Mary Morrissy is an award-winning Irish novelist (The Hennessy Award, Lannan Foundation Award) and short story writer, the author of three novels, Mother of Pearl, The Pretender and The Rising of Bella Casey, and two collections of short stories, A Lazy Eye and Prosperity Drive. She has taught creative writing at university level in the US and Ireland for the past 15 years and works as a freelance literary mentor. She currently teaches on the MA in Creative Writing at University College Cork. She still write articles for various publications and websites and review fiction, as well as writing a blog: https://marymorrissy.com/ There will be readings and a Q&A with Mary, followed by an open mic for short story/flash fiction/prose writers after the interval - 2 pages of 4 max for the open mic.
